With the first exhibition opening on January 27th 1962, The Art Gallery in Kruševac began to work with the purpose of exhibition, collection, preservation and research of the significant artistic events and trends in the country, as well as of the arts originating in the town and the region area. At the moment of its establishment the gallery functioned within the Museum, only that it became a part of the National Museum Kruševac again, after the period of its individual functioning (1971–91). The building, along with its accompanying buildings in the yard area, was bought by the town for the needs of The Art Gallery in 1984.
A clear conception of forming the collection and the exhibition programme was set by the objectives defined in the establishment period, where the presentation of the significant events and personalities, particularly artists of the younger generation, is followed by a catalogue publication. Within the activities there is an expert library formed, as well as a documentation relevant for the research of the artistic events it is engaged in.
Located in the building with the status of the protected environmental entity of the former family house at the beginning of XX century, The Art Gallery has an exhibition space of about 140 m2, organized in five rooms, interconnected in preserved authenticity of the layout and decoration in the Secession spirit.
Working hours: 8 to 18.
